This is a big one.
We have been collecting feedback on how to improve the management of Activities since we launched.
Our initial take was to associate activities to visits and recurrences and it has served most of us well. But we knew we could do better.
After multiple sessions with current users and ideation from our side, we're happy to announce the 2nd generation of activity management within dala.care.
These are the main highlights:
To bring more structure to care planning, activities are now categorized using
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)and
Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). These help distinguish essential self-care tasks from more complex activities needed for independent living.Admins can now create
Activity Templates, ensuring consistency across care plans. These templates allow managers to quickly assign predefined activities to care recipients, reducing manual work and improving efficiency.
The interval option is something we're particularly excited about as it offers far more flexibility when it comes to preferred task schedule while maintaining the flexibility that home care calls for. You can now set a schedule to mop the floors every 5 days for example. The activity will be set for the first scheduled day and then "snoozed" for 5 days. It can still be picked up earlier, but will show up as needed once the interval has passed and will then be assigned to the following visit.
Improved Visability & TrackingOn the Care Recipients page, managers can view all planned activities, track overdue tasks, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Plus, activities can be adjusted directly in the Visit Log after a visit has taken place, keeping records accurate and up to date. This update makes activity planning more structured, efficient, and adaptable, ensuring the best possible care experience for both staff and recipients.
